Leg Rest Stool
Recycling Reusing Rethinking
Recycling Reusing Rethinking
The aim of this college project was to reuse an old used material that was offered to my class so we could create a piece of furniture that would be able keep other belongings inside. The material was a MDF and cork sandwich.
Being a material that could not be bended, I approached it in a different perspective so I could make double curve shapes with it. By cutting the sandwiches in curved shapes and stack them in parallel using 4 big screw bars, bolts and stoppers I was able to create the fluid curves I was looking for. The object I came up with was a stool to lay down your legs and relax that has a compartment to keep a blanket or magazines. This stool can also be used as a normal stool.
